On the estate, we are fortunate to have well-draining rocky soils and abundant natural quality cover crops, which prevent erosion. As a result of the much-needed rainfall, we welcomed the start of budbreak in late March 2023 with vigorous and wet soils.

In April 2020, Crown Point Vineyards brewed its first batch of compost tea. In short, compost tea is an organic product that enhances the soil’s microorganisms to promote soil health, improve root systems, and provide a catalyst for efficient uptake of the soil elements by the root. Over the long term, the brewed tea cleans the soil, promotes soil health, reinforces plant architecture, improves yields, and ultimately enhances the quality of the grapes.
